The state pension (AOW) age will remain the same in 2030

24 November 2023

Every year the government determines the age at which people will receive state pension (AOW) in five years. The age at which people receive state pension (AOW) depends on the life expectancy determined by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). If life expectancy increases, people will also receive a state pension (AOW) later.

Through 2027, the state pension age will remain at 67. In 2028, the AOW age increases to 67 years and three months. Also in 2029, this is the age at which people will receive AOW for the first time. Life expectancy for 2030 has not increased compared to life expectancy in 2029. That is why the state pension age in 2030 will remain at 67 years and three months.

How do I know what my state pension (AOW) age is?

Your state pension age depends on your date of birth. You can easily calculate your state pension age on the SVB website.
